ServSafe California Food Handler Online Course and Assessment meets the requirements set forth by the California Retail Code (with specified exceptions). The law describes a food handler as anyone who is involved in the preparation, storage, or service of food. For more information about the legislation, visit calrest.org/foodhandler. Food handlers must have a California Food Handler Card. New hires will have 30 days following the date of hire to acquire a food handler card.
