Become a ServSafe® Food Handler Instructor
Please note, ServSafe Food Handler Instructor status is only applicable for print exams in states that require ASTM food handler programs to be used. ASTM/ANAB accredited training is required in Arizona, California, Hawaii, Illinois, New Mexico, South Carolina, and Texas.
ServSafe Food Handler Instructor status can also be be used to track student’s certificates, for states that do NOT require ASTM/ANAB food handler training. These instructors must purchase books and exam answer sheets from one of the ASTM/ANAB states listed above, such as Illinois. ServSafe Food Handler Instructors are NOT able to offer Food Handler online exams. The ServSafe Food Handler Program offers
best-in-class training and uses the same principles and instructional design as

Please note, if you’re currently a ServSafe Food Protection Manager Instructor
or Proctor you still need to become a ServSafe Food Handler Instructor in order
to access and schedule print exams (there is no Proctor status requirement for the Food
Handler program). ServSafe Food Handler instructor are only able to offer print exam, and may not offer online ServSafe Food Handler Exams.
