I have employees that need the Food Handler card, how do I purchase and assign course to them?

Once you’ve purchased the online courses, select "Manage Courses" under the Administrators
section on www.servsafe.com/ss/foodhandler. If you’re not logged in,
enter your ServSafe.com User ID and Password. Select the course that you want to assign from
the drop down menu. Then select how you would like to assign the course to the student by
assigning it to their email address, to their ServSafe.com User ID, or generating a Course
Key to provide to a student. Once the Course is assigned the student will need to Enter (or
create) a ServSafe User ID and Password and then launch the course.

How do I get my results/certificate?

If you took an Online Course and Assessment, your results will be available immediately
after passing your assessment. You can print your certificate by selecting the "Print My
Certificate" option under the Student section of www.servsafe.com/ss/foodhandler.

If you took an Instructor led class and provided a valid email address on your answer sheet,
you’ll receive an email notice when your results are available. Click the link in the email to
view your results, complete the required information to create a ServSafe.com User ID and you
can view your results. You can print your certificate by selecting the "Print My Certificate"
option under the Student section of www.servsafe.com/ss/foodhandler.

Does my certificate expire?
How do I un-assign a course?

If a student has not started a course you can un-assign it and return it to your "pool"
of course keys. Once you’ve assigned a course, select "Manage Courses" under the
Administrators section on www.servsafe.com/ss/foodhandler. If
you’re not logged in, enter your ServSafe.com User ID and Password. Select the course
that the student is taking from the drop down menu. Select "Track Students" and you’ll
be able to see the progress for all of your students. If the student hasn’t started the
course, you’ll see a trash can symbol. Select this icon and it will remove the course
from that student and the course will return to your available pool to assign. You can
follow this same process for Unassigned Course Keys by selecting that option from Course
Management page. Any Course Key that has a trash can symbol, can be removed and returned
back to your pool of available Course Keys.

safe food handling procedures.

The ServSafe Food Handler Assessment is designed to gauge the knowledge that has been delivered through the
ServSafe Food Handler Course or comparable program. Individuals who receive a ServSafe Food Handler Certificate have
successfully completed a Food Handler Course and have basic knowledge of the topics covered in the course.

Certificates may not be tampered with, and text or logos may not be added to them without the express written
permission of the Association. Certificate-holders and instructors may not portray themselves or imply that they are
"certified", "certificated", "licensed", "registered", or "accredited" by the Association. Certificate-holders may
refer to their certificate as a "ServSafe Food Handler Certificate" or "ServSafe California Food Handler Certificate".
Certificate-holders may say that they are "ServSafe Food Handler Certificate Recipients."

after National Restaurant Association is in receipt of the completed Exam Information Form
and Answer Sheets sent from your Instructor.

How do I take the exam if it’s not in my native language?

If the exam is not available in your native language, you can utilize a native language
to English dictionary during the exam. You can also inform your Instructor of the issue
before attending the class and request that they submit an Examination Accommodation Request
Form (to potentially have the exam read aloud).

Find an Instructor in your area and contact them to schedule a time and date to take the Course
and/or Exam. Please note, the Instructors listed are not employees, agents, contractors or
representatives of NRA Solutions or any NRA Solutions' affiliated entities. Listing them or
their Web site listings on the NRA Solutions' Web site is done as a courtesy and as a possible

How do I track my course progress?

Progress toward completion of the ServSafe Online Food Handler Course is tracked by use of the "progress bar"
and the "course status". When the participant has begun to review the course content, the course status is
"in progress", and when course instruction is concluded, the status is changed to "completed".

For classroom training, instructors must state when the classroom training is complete and when the assessment
portion will begin, so that participants are aware that from that point forward no further course instruction will
be provided.

Course is set to expire, and attach custom information (such as an Employee ID) to the students
record under the "Edit" field.

How do I become a ServSafe Food Handler Instructor?

The registration process is entirely online and can be done in five easy steps.
Please note: Even if you are currently a ServSafe Manager Instructor and/or Proctor you still
need to register as a ServSafe Food Handler Instructor. There is no Proctor status requirement
for this program.

Go to www.servsafe.com/ss/foodhandler

Click "Become an Instructor" under the "Instructors" section

Log in or create a new profile

Confirm your contact information is current
-
Agree to the National Restaurant Association’s Performance Standards
including the Exam Administration Handbook policies.

Upon completion of these steps, you will immediately be a Registered ServSafe Food Handler
Instructor and ready to print and administer exams.

How do I get the Food Handler Exam?

Once you’re registered as an Instructor, select "Schedule Class" under the Instructor
section of www.servsafe.com/ss/foodhandler. Enter your ServSafe
User ID and Password and select "Create Class" next to ServSafe California Food Handler Course
and Assessment. Read the Exam Administration Agreement terms and select "I accept".
Complete the required information the Request Form, which are highlighted by asterisks.
Please note, if this is the first time you’re creating a class you may need to search for an
Organization. You can do this by clicking on the hyperlink "Organization".
If you’re still unable to find your Company, please contact our Service Center at 866-901-7778
for further assistance. Once you’ve entered the required information, select "Save".
You’ll be taken to another screen where you can print a copy of your Exam Information Form as
well as the ServSafe California Food Handler Exam.

Once you’ve administered the exam, according to the policies outlined in the ServSafe
Food Handler Exam Administration Handbook, the Exam Information Form and all answer sheets
should be returned the National Restaurant Association for grading. The Exam Information Form
and completed answer sheets should be returned via an in-route traceable method to the address
below:

How do I give the exam to someone if it’s not available in their native language or if they have literacy issues?

A Registered ServSafe Food Handler Instructor would be allowed to read or interpret
(provided they’re fluent in the language) aloud the exam, once an Accommodation has been
approved. An Accommodation may also be submitted requesting the use of a professional
interpreter in the event a Registered ServSafe Food Handler Instructor is not available.
1) Download, print out, and complete the Examination Accommodation Request Form.
2) Fax your completed form with documentation to the Service Center at (866) 665-9570.
3) Immediately after faxing, phone (800) 765-2122, ext. 6703 to verify that we have received your fax.
