Certification process

The ServSafe program has tools for instructors to plan lessons, deliver clear content, and ensure that real-world lessons go to work back in the operation. Instructor Tools include video-based and activity-based leader’s guides, a supplemental PowerPoint® presentation, 80-question diagnostic pretest, 40-question practice exam, games, quizzes, and more.

ServSafe DVDs are powerful and convenient supplements to classroom training that include realistic scenarios, food safety practices, discussion guides and more. Topics covered in the DVDs include:

  • Introduction to Food Safety
  • Overview of Foodborne Microorganisms and Allergens
  • Personal Hygiene
  • Purchasing, Receiving, and Storage
  • Preparation, Cooking, and Serving
  • Facilities, Cleaning and Sanitizing, and Pest Management
